Manna FoodBank

MANNA FoodBank has been the main source of food for nonprofits, soup kitchens, food pantries and other agencies throughout Western North Carolina since 1982. Through its work, more than 200 agencies in 16 counties can provide healthy, nutritious food for the region’s hungry people. In 2012 alone, MANNA FoodBank delivered 11.2 million pounds of food—and thanks to its new “fresh food” programming, 2.5 million pounds of it was fresh produce. What does all that food equal? Enough food for one thousand free meals every hour, every day for the Western North Carolinians who need it most.

Why we love them: MANNA FoodBank gives thousands of Western North Carolinians a source of healthy, fresh food.
